Shinto saw rasps feature 10 double-sided, hardened steel strips that have been riveted together to form a wide cutting surface. They are primarily designed for woodwork, but can also be used on soft metals or plastic. These rasps have been praised by luthiers, carpenters and woodworkers the world over. They are particularly effective at getting guitar necks down to the desired shape. Thanks to their waffled design, they don't clog easily and the excellent quality Japanese steel ensures these rasps will last a long time.

While the coarse side is great for removing lots of wood quickly, the fine side produces smooth finishes, reducing the amount of sandpaper needed. They are usable by left-handed people as well as right handed, and prove a great way to remove lots of wood quickly without creating a lot of fine dust or noise.
