Hasegawa has put a modern spin on a traditional Japanese cooking instrument. For those unaware, a Makisu (巻きす) is a type of rolling mat used for making sushi rolls. Traditionally these were made with bamboo, or cotton strings.

Hasegawa's makisu is made with plastic and filaments which prevent rice from sticking to it, as well as reducing the accumulation of dirt. They also do not splinter like traditional wooden makisu. This eliminates the need to wrap the makisu in cling film, thereby speeding up prep and cleaning in the kitchen. Make the sushi of your dreams with the Hasegawa makisu selection!
